Georgia clients obtain $27 million
In 2004, Attorneys Edward J. Dovin and Sandra L. Malkin served as lead counsel to more than 100 clients who were defrauded by a broker in the Augusta, Georgia office of A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. In Gresham v. A. G. Edwards, the first of these cases to go to trial, an NYSE arbitration panel awarded the Claimant more than $924,000, which included $265,000 in out-of-pocket losses, $240,000 in attorneys' fees and $400,000 in punitive damages. Following that victory, A. G. Edwards settled with all of the remaining clients for approximately $27 million. The settlement was the largest ever of its kind in Georgia. |
